Social Media Client: Chair Up
- Helped establish strategic direction with the business concept of selling chairs
that make people ‘cheer up’ (i.e. ChairUp)
- Set Up a Facebook Page that in just 3 months attracted over 3,000 organic fans
- Ran 3 months worth of competitions of chair giveaways that increased
online sales & brand awareness of the new company brand
- Activity has not been up-kept since we maintained the Page,however a large portion of fans have not opted to ‘Unlike’ the Page since
The new brand of office chairs offered for sale online was a play on words in order to increase the company’s brand awareness of Social Media due to a play on words of ‘Chair (Cheer) Up’. Creating a Page that would appeal to those with a passion for humour meant the brand was able to tap into their markets through comedy rather than a rare occurrence of people wanting buy an office chair.
The three competitions held over three consecutive months were run within Facebook’s T&Cs (that were later re-introduced only in 2013), and inspired users connected to the Page to invite their friends to it as well.
One user over the period of a month brought in over 300 friends alone; word-of-mouth that is unlikely to happen offline in such a short space of time.
